About Forest School
We aim to foster a love of nature and the natural world and develop practical skills like bush crafts, camp fire building and shelter construction as well as offering creative activities such as, charcoal painting, creating natural dyes and nest building. Forest school activities can help to build confidence, independence and resilience and our teachers will gently challenge the children and offer them the opportunity to take supported risks, appropriate to the environment and themselves.
Equipment
Please note, unless weather conditions are too dangerous, all sessions will take place outdoors under limited shelter and children should therefore be sent with the appropriate clothing – waterproofs and wellies if it’s going to be wet or suitable lightweight clothes and of course, a sun hat if it will be hot and sunny. When sunscreen is necessary, it should be applied before arrival.
