Run by qualified coaches, gymnastics starts with fun and free play for young children to develop the basic foundations of gymnastic techniques and progresses to more rigorous gymnastics programmes for experienced gymnasts, focussing on the development of core skills, working on balance, strength, flexibility, orientation activities and sequences. Courses works towards British Gymnastics awards.

PARENT & CHILD
1.5 – 3 years
Run by qualified coaches this class introduces gymnastic techniques in a fun and semi structured session. Starting with nursery rhyme warm-ups, the classes move onto supported free play where children are encouraged to develop the basic foundations of gymnastic techniques. Sessions will finish with structured games which will also help build balance and co-ordination.
FUNdamentals – PRE-SCHOOL
3 – 5 years
This ‘pre-school’ course will follow the British Gymnastic (B.G.) Gymnastics and Movement Learning Programme which makes an excellent introduction to Gymnastics. It follows the fundamental principles A, B, C – Action, Balance and coordination. Participants will work towards the FUNdamentals Award scheme.
Please Note: During the Easter and summer holidays there are specific security arrangements for children under 6 years old. Parents will be shown where the course will take place immediately following Registration on Day 1 (please allow a little extra time for this). CORE SKILLS
6 years+
These are recreational gymnastics programmes suitable for both beginners and gymnasts with some experience. The emphasis is on the development of core skills, working on balance, strength, flexibility, orientation activities and sequences. This course works towards B.G. Proficiency Awards 8-1 and on to Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.
