Junior (Year 3+)

Learn to sew with real sewing machines! A comprehensive introduction to running and using a sewing machine safely is given before working on a simple project like a bookmark, with more projects to be completed across the term! Projects may include cushion covers, tote bags and even simple clothes like sweatshirts or even t-shirts or vest top and shorts sets! Junior sessions are open to both complete beginners and children with some experience.

Senior (Year 7+)

During the first lesson, students will be taught how to thread up and operate our sewing machines, moving onto a project that everyone will complete. After that, there’ll be a choice of projects, with up to 6 to work on at their own pace throughout the term. Students are likely to be able to complete 2 or 3 of the 6 projects in a term and will get to choose their favourites!

Students will gain experience in cutting out pattern pieces and following a simple pattern. Potential projects are: pyjama bottoms and top, dressing gown, pinafore dress, dungarees, summery trousers and a sweatshirt or hoody. Students may choose from the fabrics available or can purchase them elsewhere to use in class. Senior sessions are open to both complete beginners and children with some experience.

All Courses – 7 years+

We will be using real sewing machines from day one, where we start with an introduction to how to use a sewing machine before moving onto a small project to complete that day. Over the rest of the course we will work on 2-3 more projects. These can range from bags and pillows to pyjama bottoms, hoodies and dressing gowns! The camps are open to both complete beginners and those who have some experience of sewing, and even if they join us every camp they won’t repeat a project!

Each week will be run with a different theme, but please note that AM and PM courses on the same week will be the same theme.
